Punjab: BSF retrieves China made drone from Ferozepur village field

The drone has a hold and release mechanism, which was recovered from a farming field adjacent to Rohilla Hazi village.

The Border Security Force (BSF) recovered a China-made drone near Maboke village in Punjab's Ferozepur district on Saturday.

In a media release, BSF’s Punjab Frontier clarified that Army personnel intercepted the movement of the suspected drone at 10.10 PM on Friday and immediately fired at it.

Subsequent to the seizer, a search operation on the morning of December 9 led to the recovery of the drone. The drone has a hold and release mechanism, which was recovered from a farming field adjacent to Rohilla Hazi village. 

The media release also added that the retrieved drone is a Quadcopter (Model - DJI Mavic 3 Classic, made in China).

Notably, several attempts to smuggle arms and narcotics into Indian territory have been made by cross-border smugglers in Punjab.  In a joint operation, the BSF and Punjab Police recovered a Pakistani drone in the Amritsar sector which was recovered from a field near Dhanoe Kalan village.
