During the renovation of an old building in Punjab’s Phillaur, two labourers have lost their lives while two others have been injured after petrol pump’s roof collapsed. According to the sources, the accident took place during the repair work of the old building.

The incident happened near Lasada petrol pump built on Phillaur-Nawan city road in Jalandhar on Sunday. Injured have been admitted to the hospital for the treatment.

The police officials informed that due to roof collapse working labourers got buried under the debris and died on the spot. Rescue work started with the support of local people, soon after the incident reported.

While informing about details of the incident, Phillaur SDM Amanpal Singh said that the bodied have been sent to Phillaur Civil Hospital for post-mortem and registered a case.

Meanwhile, Phillaur Constituency in-charge AAP leader Principal Prem Kumar expressed the condolences to the families of deceased.
