In a search operation to nab Khalistani supporter Amritpal Singh, the Punjab Police is not only working on the ground but also keeping a vigil eye on social media. Police have warned people not to spread the wrong information or mislead the people, or else action against them will be taken by the police and government. According to the latest updates, Punjab Police has suspended almost 75 Twitter accounts which include Khalistani supporters, and MP of Sangrur Simranjit Singh Mann. 

During a press conference held at Punjab Police headquarters on Monday, IG Sukhchain Singh Gill said that the cyber cell is keeping a vigil eye on this and they have more information about them. IG also appealed to people not to mislead or circulate wrong information, or else strict action will be taken against them. In response to the case, Punjab and Haryana High Court have already formed a team to monitor the social media accounts related to anti-social elements. 

Neighbouring states are also cooperating In the course of the police’s operation to arrest Amritpal Singh, a supporter of Khalistan, the Punjab Police is in contact with the bordering states also. The bordering states are fully assisting with the assistance that is being requested. The Punjab Police is also in contact with the Centre in the case.
