An NRI husband thrashed his wife to death after returning from Italy. He allegedly started beating his wife after returning home and flogged his wifes head on the floor of their house in Sandhu Chatha village, police said on Tuesday.According to the Kapurthala Senior Superintendent of Police Vatsala Gupta, the accused is a non-resident Indian identified as Sukhdev Singh who returned to his home from Italy on Monday.He is said to have had a heated argument with his wife Harpreet Kaur (45) on the same day after returning, the SSP said.Singh allegedly dragged Harpreet to his room and thrashed her head repeatedly on the floor which killed her on the spot, he added.The accused is said to be absconding, while the police have filed a case and efforts are being made to nab him.
