The government of Aam Aadmi Party has completed one year of its rule in Punjab. At its first anniversary, today chief minister of Punjab Bhagwant Mann has listed out some of the achievements of the government and promised that they will together turn out the state into Rangla Punjab and congratulated the leaders. He spoke about the fulfilment of the promise of giving 300 units of free electricity per month, government jobs for the youth, opening of mohalla clinic and may others.Mann said, “The AAP government, which was elected with expectations and big hopes, completed one year in office. Punjabis created history by giving a huge mandate to the AAP one year ago.” Adding further to the statement he said that they have given 26,797 government jobs with in the period of one year and almost 87 percent of the households get zero electricity bills as promised.Notably, Aam Aadmi Party won 92 out of 117 seats in Punjab Assembly elections in 2022.The chief minister further said that government has also taken the action to regularise 14,000 temporary employees in the education department and 14,000 in other departments in the state. The services of the outsourced employees will also be regularised after clearing all the legal hurdles.Talking about mohalla clinicTaking about mohalla clinic, he said that around 500 clinics have been opened in Punjab so far and over 12 to 15 lakhs people are getting benefitted under the healthcare services at the facilities. He also called this a bog achievement. The govt will soon come up with Schools of Eminence for the students.Mentioning in the field of agriculture, the government has given MSP on moong crop and Rs 1500 per acre for promoting the direct seeing of rice and also cleared the dues for Sugarcane worth Rs 392 crore.Referring to the 2015, Kotkapura incidentMann said a 7,000-page chargesheet and there was no “political interference” in the probe carried out by the Punjab Police special investigation team. “Since we did so much work in the first year, we will now shift to the second gear of progress. Big industrialists are keen to invest in Punjab, they will set up their units and it will create jobs,” the Chief Minister said.“Our motive is not (to form) the next government… Generally, parties start looking at how their next government will be formed… we are saying people have made the government. Our priority is to take our next generation forward and raise the standard of living of the poor,” he said.Will turn state into Rangla PunjabDeclaring, that his government is working towards turning the state into Rangla Punjab (Vibrant Punjab), which is going to be very big campaign against drugs in the state. Relating this, he said “if you have shown the faith in me, keep that faith. I will never break your faith.”Anti-Corruption movementMann said that his government is working towards the corruption free Punjab. He also spoke about the graft cases, and asserted that their government has zero tolerance policy against corruption and strict action will be taken against the people involved. He further said that their government has made out of anti-corruption movement, and will always work towards the betterment of people of the state.He said, “We have set the example by not sparing the elected MLAs and even ministers of our own party. Many leaders of the opposition went behind bars. The corrupt officials are also under the scanner. Our party led by Arvind Kejriwal was born from an anti-corruption movement and we are living up to peoples expectations.”
