Punjab: Man dies performing stunt on tractor in fair, CM Bhagwant Mann bans sport

The Panjab Government banned any kinds of stunts on tractors on Monday. This announcement comes two days after a 29-year-old man stuntman died under the tires of a tractor during a rural sports fair in Gurdaspur district. The video clip of the devastating incident spread like wildfire on social media.  

Bhagwant Mann announces

The Chief Minister of Panjab Bhagwant Mann took to the microblogging platform X to appeal to the netizens to avoid such practices. The captions read, "Dear Punjabis, the tractor is called the king of fields. Don't make it the angel of death. Any kind of stunt or dangerous performance with tractor and related implements is being banned in Punjab. Rest details soon".

Sukhmandeep Singh from Thathe village lost his balance as he attempted to climb onto the tires of the tractor when it suddenly hopped up and began to move on Saturday. He was then crushed under the tires of the tractor and died later in the hospital.

Speaking with PTI, Gurdaspur Deputy Commissioner Himanshu Aggarwal, "A private fair was organized. A tractor stuntman injured himself while trying to control a tractor. He lost his life on his way to the hospital. The organizers of such fairs only take permission for loudspeakers during the festive season".
