Protesters at Jantar Mantar observed May 11 as ‘Black Day,’ wearing head and armbands, after Olympic medal-winning wrestler Sakshi Malik on Wednesday asked WFI chief Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh to undergo a lie detector test for drugs if he is confident of his integrity after he was levelled for sexual harassment of seven wrestlers.

Reportedly, wrestlers also said that they will oppose the hosting of events if Singh is also part of that organisation.

Notably, the ace grapplers- Bajrang Punia, Vinesh Phogat, and Sakshi Mallik returned to the protest site on April 23 at Jantar Mantar in Delhi. They have filed a sexual harassment complaint against the chief of the Wrestling Federation of India (WFI), Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh.

After this, Delhi Police filed two FIRs against the WFI chief Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh, following the order of the Supreme Court. Before this, well-known wrestlers led an anti-WFI demonstration, and the Union Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports then announced the creation of an oversight committee to look into the accusations against the WFI chief and a few other trainers as well.
