A police officer has been shot dead by militants in Manipur. According to the reports, the incident took place when Moreh Sub-Divisional Police Officer (SDPO) Chingtham Anand was on a round of inspection to a newly constructed helipad at the Eastern ground in the border town.The incident happened at Manipurs Moreh. Soon after the incident, the SDPO Anand was taken to the Moreh primary health centre where he succumbed to injuries. Meanwhile, the police have also launched a search operation to apprehend the militants. Manipur CM Biren on killingTaking it to his X account, the chief minister of Manipur N. It is to be noted here that Manipur has been witnessing violence since May 3, where first the clashes broke out and has claimed several lives so far.
