In the latest development in Delhi’s Bhajanpura murder case where a senior manager from e-commerce giant Amazon got killed, two more arrests have been made by Delhi police in connection with the murder.

According to the police officials, the two arrested accused have been identified as Sohail and Jubair were apprehended on Thursday near Burari in the national capital, while they were trying to escape from Delhi to Punjab. After the arrest of Sohail and Jubair, a total of four people has been arrested in connection with the murder so far.

Before this, Delhi Police arrested two persons – Maya and Bilal. However, one more accused namely, Adnan- a 19-years-old teen is still absconding.

What do preliminary investigation says?

According to the statement released by Delhi Police, around 10.30 pm on August 29, all five of the individuals decided to leave for a ride, and Sameer, alias Maya, was armed with a gun.

They entered Bhajanpura’s winding roads on two motorcycles, the police reported, adding that they made a few stops before entering Gali No. 8/4, Subhash Vihar, Bhajanpura. Two motorcycles couldn’t fit in the lane since it was so small without one moving to the side to make room for the other.

Harpreet Gill (36) and Govind Singh (32) were also entering the roadway from the opposite direction. As the three groups of motorcyclists struggled to make room for one another, Bilal and his companions allegedly suddenly became violent, according to the police.

In the heat of rage, Junaid got off his bike and slapped Govind Singh, when Harpreet tried to settle the issue, Mohd. Sameer opened fire from close range and shot at both Harpreet and Govind in the head.

The youths after shooting at the victims fled from the spot, the police added. Further investigation into the case is in progress.
