Prime Minister Narendra Modi is on a day-long visit to Gujarat on Friday. During this, he is scheduled to attend three programmes and will also lay the foundation of projects worth Rs 4,400 crore. PM Modi also witnessed the Akhil Bhartiya Sangh Adhiveshan in Gandhinagar which is the 29th Biennial Conference of the All-India Primary Teachers’ Federation.

The theme of the conference is ‘Teachers are at the Heart of Transforming Education’.

According to the statement by Prime Minister’s Office, PM Modi inaugurates and lays the foundation stone of various projects worth Rs 4,400 crores. He is also scheduled to visit Gujarat International Finance Tec-City (GIFT city). The development projects worth Rs 2,450 crore are also included in this. These include initiatives from the departments of urban development, water supply, roads and transportation, and mines and minerals.

Projects to be launched include, an auditorium in Dahegam, a River Overbridge at Ahmedabad, a drainage collection network for Naroda GIDCs and sewage treatment plants in Mehsana and Ahmedabad as well as the expansion of multivillage drinking water schemes in Banaskantha district.

According to a PMO release, PM Modi will also take part in Gruh Pravesh, where he will dedicate projects under the PMAY (rural and urban) programme and lay the cornerstone for almost 19,000 of the homes that were constructed under the programme. “During the programme, he will give the scheme’s beneficiaries their keys. Around Rs 1,950 crore was spent on these projects overall, according to PMO.

While laying the foundation stone at Gandhinagar, PM Modi said that old policies cannot change the future of the country. “Moving ahead with the old failed policies can neither change a country’s fortunes nor make the country succeed. There’s a great difference between the approach and vision of the previous governments and today’s governments. We are truly committed to the welfare of the poor. – PM @narendramodi,” PM said.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi will not only evaluate the progress of different ongoing projects while he is in Gujarat International Finance Tec-City (GIFT City) but will also speak with the GIFT IFSC to learn more about their past experiences and future goals. PM Modi will also stop at the Automated Waste Collection Segregation Plant and the Underground Utility Tunnel, two of the most important infrastructure facilities in GIFT City.

PM Modi also said, “The BJP Govt has been all geared up to meet future challenges owing to the rising urbanisation in the country. We have built over 1,000 houses in Rajkot using modern technology; this establishment has been fast-paced, low-cost and safe & secure.”

“We have established the modern houses as part of the Light House Project spanning 6 cities of the country; such technology can usher in furnishing modern housing facilities to the poor in future. – PM @narendramodi,” he added.
