The army officials confirmed that an infiltration bid in the wee hours of Monday has been foiled along the Line of Control (LoC) in the general area of Degwar Terwan in Jammu and Kashmir‘s Poonch. However, the search operation is still on.
In a statement, Lt Col Suneel Bartwal, PRO (Defence) Jammu, said, “Contact established by ambush in Garhi Battalion, Poonch around 2:00 am. Two individuals were observed moving across LoC in the General area of Degwar Terva.”
The officials have informed that one terrorist fell immediately in the firefight near LoC, while another ran back to the border.
Similarly in an operation by the security forces on Sunday, a terrorist was killed in a joint operation conducted by Indian Army and Kupwara police in Tangdhar Sector. The zonal police have informed that one more torrist gt killed while trying to cross the LoC in Amrohi area of Tangdhar Sector.

According to the official statement, Terrorists repeatedly tried to breach the barrier on Saturday night and Sunday morning, but their attempts were always prevented by controlled fire. According to the spokesperson, security personnel used cutting-edge technology, including night-capable quadcopters, unmanned aerial vehicles, and sniffer dogs to improve their capabilities during the operation.
