On PM Modi’s 73rd birthday, auto drivers in Surat to offer discounts to passengers 

India is celebrating Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s 73rd birthday today. From sand artists to smoke artists, several are gathered together to extend their wishes to the PM. Meanwhile, in Gujarat’s Surat, nearly 1,000 auto-rickshaw drivers will be offering discounts to their customers on Sunday.

Auto Rickshaw drivers in Surat offer discounts on PM Modi’s birthday

The announcement was made by Gujarat MLA Purnesh Modi, who expressed his gratitude towards the auto-rickshaw driver for their generous act.

Speaking to the news agency ANI, the BJP leader said, “1,000 auto-rickshaw drivers have announced a 30 per cent discount on PM Modi’s birthday. I would like to thank 73 auto-rickshaw drivers who are offering a 100 per cent discount on the 73rd birthday of PM Modi.”

Moreover, thousands of drivers are offering a 30 per cent discount, while 73 other auto-rickshaw drivers have decided to go a step further by offering a 100 per cent discount, essentially providing free rides for their passengers today.

Sewa Pakhwara

Marking PM Modi’s birthday, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) will initiate a two-week campaign called ‘Sewa Pakhwara’ during which members will take part in welfare programmes such as blood donation camps, cleanliness drives and health camps.

Meanwhile, PM Modi is all set to launch his government’s ambitious scheme, ‘PM Vishwakarma’ which is aimed at helping artisans craftsmen and others engaged in traditional skills on the occasion.
