In a heart- wrenching incident, two siblings allegedly died by suicide on Sunday in Odishas Bargarh. While, the mother survived and was being treated at a government hospital in the district, died on Monday morning, hours after her two children passed away.What has exactly happened Two siblings lost their father Arjun Sahu, last week. They were unable to bear the pain and allegedly consumed pesticide along with their mother in the Masterpada area of Sohela block in Bargarh district on Sunday morning. The deceased were identified as Kumudini Sahu, her son Bansidhar Sahu and daughter Subarna Mahajan.The incident came into light when neighbours spotted Subarnas two-old-daughter crying outside their Masterpada home at around 11 AM. However, they spoke to the girl and immediately in formed the local police.On being informed, the Sohela police rushed to the location, broke open the door and found the three lying unconscious. They took them to Bargarh district headquarters hospital where Bansidhar died during treatment. Later, his sister succumbed. While, mother survived and was being treated at a government hospital but she also died on Monday morning after her children passed away.However, initial investigation could not point at the exact reason behind the suicide. Police believed at the angle of Arjuns death as the reason. The inspector in charge of Sohela police station Pranaya Murmu said a preliminary investigation suggested that the trio might have attempted this extreme step due to depression but a detailed investigation is underway.
