According to the latest update, as the search to find the dead bodies of the victims of the triple-train accident in Balasore, Odisha’s Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation have sent the DNA samples of 30 bodies to the All-India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS), Delhi.

As per the statement by Addition Commissioner of Municipal Corporation Suryawanshi Mayur Vikas, on Tuesday said that the department will be sending the DNA samples of 30 victims to AIIMS, Delhi to make their identification. The process of the detailed report will take 7-8 days.

He further added, that around 80 bodies have been piled up at different hospitals waiting for the identification. Additionally, he said that the government is facilitating the work to avoid any inconvenience to the affected families. Notably, the state government will be bearing all the costs of the transfer and procedures of the bodies.

Apart from this, the Odisha government and the state government of West Bengal have set up a helpdesk at AIIMS Bhubaneswar to help people who are looking for their kin after the horrific triple-train accident at Balasore, Odisha.

CBI opened an investigation in a triple-train mishap

Apart from this, in response to a request from the Ministry of Railways, approval from the government of Odisha, and additional directives from the DoPT (Govt. of India), the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has opened an investigation into the June 2 train accident involving the Coromandel Express, Yashwantpur-Howrah Express, and a goods train at Bahanaga Bazar in Odisha.
