The communal violence that broke out in Haryana’s Nuh on July 31, has created unrest in the state. According to the Haryana Police, several Rohingya refugees have been detained in connection with the recent racial clashes.

In addition to this, the demolition drive was carried out because Rohingya refugees had illegitimately occupied Haryana Shahari Vikas Pradhikaran’s property in Tauru, according to Nuh Superintendent of Police Narender Bijarniya. However, some of them have also been identified as throwing stones and participating in the mob on July 31 violence.

Meanwhile, Nuh Deputy Commissioner Prashant Panwar while addressing the media on August 6 informed, “The situation is normal now. SP and I had a meeting with both communities…We have also appealed to them to assure that no incident will happen in future… Demolition drive against illegal construction is underway and it will continue… Action is not being taken to target anyone. Our motive is to establish peace…”

Status of internet & curfew in Nuh

According to the latest update, the administration has lifted the curfew in Haryana’s Nuh for the movement of the public for 4 hours on Monday. The decision for the curfew was taken on August 1 following the communal clashes. The curfew will be lifted from 9 am to 1 pm, according to the orders of the district magistrate.

However, internet services will remain suspended in the district till August 8.
