According to the sources, the order has been given by a bench of Justice GS Sandhawalia who has been taking suo moto cognisance (the power of the court to take up cases on its own) of the demolitions in Nuh. The action was taken by the administration following the communal clashes in Nuh.
Meanwhile, the court also questioned the decision of the government on the demolition drive for bringing down structures without serving any prior notices to affected people. The officials involved in the matter informed that at least 94 houses and 212 other structures were razed on Sunday, taking the total number of buildings demolished by the authorities to more than 750 since the drive began on August 3, officials aware of the matter said.
