Around two dozen of medical shops have been razed near violence hit Nuh after the bulldozer action. According to the sources, action has been taken by the district administration against the illegal construction. The action went on the third day when the shanties of immigrants living in Tauru got demolished.

The action started on Thursday and went on, under the vigilance of officials from district administration. According to the sources, bulldozers rolled in at Shaheed Hasan Khan Mewati Government Medical College, Nalhar, in Nuh. Apart from this, two dozen shops, mostly pharmacies, opposite the main entrance of the hospital have also been demolished amid tight security. Notably, these illegal shops have been there for years.

The officials have informed that many of the shop owners have fled, fearing arrests. Meanwhile, sources also claim that the administration has started demolishing the illegal encroachments, which were there for the last few years. However, Aftab Ahmed, the local MLA and deputy leader of the Congress Legislative Party have been protesting against the action.

He tweeted, “In Nuh, it is not only the houses of the poor that are being demolished, but the faith and trust of the common people are being destroyed. Villagers said that houses and shops were demolished today itself by giving notice in back date of one month. The government is taking wrong action to hide administrative failures; this is repressive policy.”

Noteworthy is, that Nuh has been on surveillance after the communal clashes that took place on July 31 and has killed six.
