In a harrowing incident in Noida Sector 125's River Side Tower, nine IT employees of Erasmith Technologies found themselves in a perilous situation as the lift they were using unexpectedly crashed from the 8th floor. The incident, which occurred at 5.45 pm, left five of the occupants with serious injuries on their arms and legs, prompting their admission to the Intensive Care Unit (ICU).

The employees, all associated with Erasmith Technologies, were heading home after a day's work on the 8th floor of the building when the lift malfunctioned. A senior police officer reported that the incident transpired suddenly, leading to injuries among all nine individuals inside the lift.

Out of the nine, five sustained severe injuries on their arms and legs, necessitating immediate attention. The injured were swiftly taken to the private Jaypee Hospital, where they were admitted to the ICU for intensive care. The remaining four, while also undergoing treatment, are reportedly in stable condition.

Erasmith Technologies, an IT developer company, has its office located on the 8th floor of River Side Tower. The incident raises concerns about the safety protocols in place and the need for a thorough investigation into the cause of the lift malfunction.

The injured employees have been identified as Piyush Sharma (22), Abhishek Pandit (23), Abhishek Gupta (24), Saurabh Katia (28), Rajat Sharma (29), Shubham Bhardwaj (22), Yashu Sharma (23), Sagar (25), and Abhijeet Singh (23). Deputy Commissioner of Police (Noida) Harish Chander provided reassurance regarding the medical condition of the injured. He stated, "None of them is in critical condition," indicating that prompt medical attention has contributed to stabilising their conditions.

In the wake of the incident, two maintenance workers responsible for the upkeep of the lift have been taken into custody. This raises questions about the maintenance protocols and the need for a thorough investigation into the circumstances leading to the malfunction.
