On Tuesday the Dhakoli Police arrested a Nigerian national with 70gm of cocaine in his possession. He was the main supplier of the drug to local dealers.The person arrested has been identified as Frances Nawali, alias Frank from Ojo Barar Lagos, Nigeria, and has been residing at Vikas Nagar, New Delhi, since 2019. He was part of a network that was actively involved in drug smuggling in the Tricity area.Earlier 3 local dealers, Nitish Bishnoi, Saleem, and Abhijeet Dhiman were arrested by the Dhakoli Police on August 27 with 21 gm cocaine. According to their statements, they used to procure drugs from Francs and sold them further.Frank who was the main supplier of the drug, supplied to nearby states. He used to hand over cocaine to Nitin and the other two accused at Hollywood Crossing, Karnal, and the three used to sell it further.Findings of police on arresting cocaine dealersThe police earlier received a tip about three persons actively engaging in drug dealing, said Mohali Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP), Dr Sandeep Garg. Following the information police arrested the trio on August 27 as they were about to enter Dhakoli from the Haryana border.According to sources, the police recovered 21 grams of cocaine, one 32-caliber pistol, and two live cartridges, along with Rs 60,000 in drug money from the possession of the accused.Upon interrogation, the three accused- Nitin, Saleem, and Abhijit- revealed that they were procuring drugs from a Nigerian national, Frances Nawali alias Frank, who had been living in Vikas Nagar in New Delhi for the last four years.The SSP Dr. Garg further said that Frank is a high-scale drug dealer who supplied to other states as well. He would hand over cocaine to Nitin and the other two accused at Hollywood Crossing, Karnal, which was then further distributed to their clients.The SHO Dhakoli, Sukhbir Singh said that the police laid a trap and nabbed the accused with 70 gm of cocaine. An FIR has been registered under the relevant sections of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act at the Dhakoli police station.
