Delhi police issue advisory ahead of the inauguration of the new Parliament building which is scheduled to happen on May 28, Sunday. The inauguration will be done by Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

As per the notification issued by the traffic police of Delhi, people are directed to make necessary adjustments and avoid the New Delhi district area from 5:30 am to 3:00 pm on Sunday.

Taking it to Twitter, Delhi Traffic Police issued the advisory, which says, “In view of the inauguration of New Parliament Building on May 28, 2023, special traffic arrangements will be in place for smooth conduct of the functions. Kindly follow the advisory to avoid any inconvenience.”

The district of New Delhi would be handled as a controlled area during the inauguration ceremony, per the advisory. Only specific types of vehicles will be allowed to enter and move within this restricted region. This region will only allow movement from potential civil servants, lawful residents, branded vehicles, and emergency vehicles.

The advice gives a thorough description of the region that will be recognised as a controlled zone to make it easier to apply the traffic laws.

Mother Teresa Ceresent Road, Talkatora, Baba Kharak Singh Marg, Patel Chowk, Ashok, Windsor Place, Janpath, MLNP, Akbar Road, Gol Methi, Teen Murti Marg, Teen Murti, and Mother Teresa Roundabouts are the boundaries of the area.

Law enforcement personnel will also be deployed at the stationed checkpoints to enforce the traffic regulations.

Apart from this, civil services aspirants who are scheduled for their exam on Sunday are advised to plan their journey a little early to avoid any inconvenience, by the Delhi traffic police.

Notably, 21 opposition political parties have decided to boycott the inauguration, whereas 25 parties have given their confirmation to attend (including some which are not part of NDA) the ceremony.
