Maharashtra‘s Rashtrasant Tukdoji Maharaj University which is commonly known as Nagpur University, in the latest development has announced that the university will incorporate the history of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and Ram Janambhoomi movement into its Masters in Arts (MA) curriculum.

The decision to include the mentioned topics has invoked the ire of the opposition parties, which includes the removal of content on the history of the Communist Party and the replacement with regional party histories.

According to the sources, Nagpur University’s MA students who will soon embark their fourth semester after Diwali will soon be given the newly inducted topics in the history.

Board of Practice of the History Department of Rashtrasant Tukdoji Maharaj University has approved the syllabus.

As part of revisions following the National Education Policy, make changes in the syllabus every fourth semester of the MA History course. These changes include the renewal of topics of the history. Before this, making it a trend in 2009, the university added the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) to the BA syllabus.

However, the opposition parties have lodged an objection on this.
