The accused, identified as Shafeeque alias Shafi Shaikh, was planning to dispose of the parts, which were recovered from the kitchen of his two-room flat in MHADA locality in the RCF area when he was arrested by the RCF police in Chembur on Wednesday.

Briefing about the incident, DCP Hemraj Singh said, “The deceased was ‘mooh bola bhai‘ of Shaikh’s wife. Shaikh killed him on August 28.”

He added, “After killing Ishwar Marwadi with a sickle, Shaikh kept hitting his head with a hammer. We have seized the sickle and the hammer.”

The accused will now be produced before a court for remand on Thursday.

According to the RCF police, Ishwar Awhad, the victim, has known the family of Sheikh’s wife for long. Sheikh’s wife and her sister treated Awhad like their brother though they were not related, he said.

Why did Shaikh kill his wife’s mooh bola bhai?

Reportedly, Shaikh often took objection to the minor making comments about his wife and his sister-in-law and was apparently infuriated as Awhad did not stop doing so.

On Monday, he decided to execute this heinous plan stabbed him to death and later chopped his body into four pieces.

After Awhad went missing, Sheikh’s father-in-law, who had known the boy for many years, approached the police. Sheikh was interrogated as he had been last seen with the victim and confessed to the murder, the official said.

A case has been lodged against Shaikh under relevant sections of IPC (Indian Penal Code) 302 (murder) and 201 (disappearance of evidence) and further investigation is underway, added the officials.
