Similarity to Shraddha Walker murder case

On May 18, 2022, in Delhi, a 27-year-old Indian woman named Shraddha Walker was allegedly murdered by her live-in boyfriend, 28-year-old Aaftab Amin Poonawala.

Aaftab Poonawala strangled his lover Shraddha Walkar to death while posing as a culinary blogger on social media. Then, in his home in Mehrauli in south Delhi, he sawed her lifeless body into multiple pieces and stored it in a refrigerator for several weeks. The Delhi Police charged Poonawala in January 2023 with murder and causing the removal of evidence of an offence under the appropriate provisions of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) in a 6,636-page chargesheet.

Meanwhile, Shraddha’s father has demanded the death penalty for Aaftab Poonawala.
