With around two months left for the assembly polls in Madhya Pradesh, the ruling party Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), and the party opposition Congress have started to prove themselves as the biggest ‘Hanuman Bhakts’.

Vikram Mastal vs Shivraj Singh Chouhan

Ahead of the assembly polls, Congress has released its first list of candidates, which includes actor-turned-politician Vikram Mastal, who featured in the TV serial ‘Ramayan 2’, against the Chief Minister of the state Shivraj Singh Chouhan.

Vikram Mastal joined the Congress in July 2023. He portrayed Hanuman in the popular TV serial ‘Ramayan 2’. The Congress’s decision to put Vikram Mastal against Shivraj Singh is a calculated move in a long-standing strategy to counter the BJP’s Hindu politics by including lord Hanuman.

Who is biggest Hanuman Bhakt?

The Congress started its campaign in Jabalpur on June 12 for the upcoming assembly polls with massive cut-outs of lord Hanuman in the city and rallies echoing with ‘Jai Bajrang Bali’ chants. Congress is leaving no stone unturned to lay claim to Hanuman.

The grand old party plans to recite the Sundar Kand in all assembly constituencies to ensure its victory in the state in incoming elections.

Earlier, Hanuman became the center of politics in the Karnataka election after Congress vowed to ban the Bajrang Dal in the state. Despite coming under huge pressure from the right winger’s bodies and the BJP over its calls in the election, Congress refused to apologize and criticized the BJP for using the god’s name for its political gain.
