A heart-wrenching incident took place on Delhi-Meerut Expressway, where a 23-year-old man and his mother were killed when a truck hit their motorbike in Uttar Pradesh’s Ghaziabad district, said the police.
The accident happened near Masoori police station area late Friday, police said.
Taking notes from the incident, the police said that Vikas was travelling from Muzaffarnagar to Delhi with his 47-year-old mother Mukesh when the accident took place on the Delhi-Meerut Expressway.
Speaking to the media, Inspector-in-charge (SHO) of Masoori police station Ravindra Chand Pant said that on receiving the information about the accident, the police immediately rushed to the spot and took them to the nearest hospital where the doctors declared the two dead.
He added that the police then seized the truck, however, the driver fled the spot of the incident.
Further investigation is undergoing and police trying to arrest the accused as soon as possible. Meanwhile, the bodies have been sent for autopsy, said police.
