At least five workers have lost their lives after inhaling poisonous gas emanating from a tank at a food factory in Madhya Pradesh‘s Morena district on Wednesday.

According to the officials, soon after getting the information the officials initiated the rescue operation and evacuate the facility. Reportedly, the incident has happened at the factory named ‘Sakshi Food Product’ in the Jarerua area of the district.

Following the mishap, the officials taken the prompt action and transferred the bodies for the post-mortem examination. The police officials are suspecting that they could have inhaled the toxic gas.

Morena ASP Arvind Singh Thakur while addressing media persons said, “There is a food factory where they used to regularly clean the tank… One man had gone into the tank to clean it and he fell into it. To save him others went down the tank and they fell into it too. Probably there was a toxic gas and it can only be confirmed after post-mortem. Due to this, they died…”
