Meanwhile, the teacher behind this disturbing incident, Tripta Tyagi was booked under the IPC (Indian Penal Code) sections 323 (voluntarily causing hurt) and 504 (intentional insult with intent to provoke breach of the peace). In a recent video, Tripta Tyagi sought forgiveness and claimed that there was no communal issue behind this act. She also said that the viral video was doctored in order to create a Hindu-Muslim angle.

Moreover, she said that it was wrong on her part to get a student slapped by his fellow classmates, she was forced to as she was handicapped and was not able to stand up and reach the 8-year-old boy who had not done his assignment.

The private school where the incident happened has been shut down by the state education department and the students have been shifted to nearby schools.

Speaking to the news agency PTI, Muzaffarnagar Basic Shiksha Adhikari (BSA) Shubham Shukla, “The father of the boy who was slapped does not want his son to continue his studies there. The block education officer spoke to the boy, and he expressed his willingness to study in the government primary school in the village. On Monday, his enrolment will be done in the government school, provided his family is willing to do so.”
