Bareilly religious leader Maulana Tauqeer Raza Khan has sparked controversy with his recent remarks on interfaith marriages and demands for a Hindu nation. The head of Ittehad-e-Millat Parishad and leader of Bareilly Maslak alleged that over one million Muslim girls had been lured and abducted to marry Hindu boys across the country.

Head questioning government

They are calling it a violation of their rights. The head also questioned the government’s failure to take legal action against those calling for a Hindu nation, despite filing sedition charges against those advocating for Khalistan.

Maulana Tauqeer Raza expressed his concerns about the current state of the country and spoke to the media on Saturday during his visit to Khankahe Jamia Ashrafia, Tehsil School, ahead of his proposed Tiranga Yatra. He accused some fundamentalist Hindus of sowing seeds of hatred and dividing Hindus and Muslims, calling for action to be taken against those identified as seeking to cause division.

Religious leaders criticised the Modi government

The religious leader also criticised the Modi government, accusing it of not doing justice to Muslims and failing to arrest those responsible for the deaths of Muslims. He demanded that bulldozers be used to demolish the homes of murderers and that the accused be arrested.

Yatra will begin on March 15

Maulana Tauqeer Raza Khan plans to embark on a Tiranga Yatra, a foot journey from Bareilly to Delhi, carrying the Tricolor flag and aimed at strengthening national unity and integrity. The yatra is scheduled to begin on March 15 and end on March 20, with a memorandum to be submitted to the President upon arrival in Delhi. The Maulana has called upon all Indians who love their country and support the Constitution to join the yatra, regardless of their political affiliation.

Conclusion

Although Maulana Tauqeer Raza Khan has insisted that the purpose of the Tiranga Yatra is not political, his statements on interfaith marriages and demands for a Hindu nation have been criticised by many as politically charged and divisive. The issue has sparked heated debates nationwide, with some calling for legal action against Maulana’s statements.
