An unusual case has been reported by a Bangladeshi woman who has accused a man from Noida in Uttar Pradesh of marrying her. According to the reports, she has made the claims that they both got married when the man came to Dhaka for work and fled the country after they had a child together.

The police on Monday said that the Bangladeshi woman has arrived in India with a tourist visa with a one-year-old child with her.

The lady, a Dhaka native, claimed in her police report that she had been married in Bangladesh in April 2021 by Saurabhkant Tiwari, a Surajpur resident, according to Rajiv Dixit, Additional Deputy Commissioner of Police for Central Noida.

The lady said that the man was previously married to an Indian woman, with whom he has two children, and employed by a private energy firm in Bangladesh from January 2017 until December 2021.

During the preliminary investigation, the woman has submitted her passport, visa and citizenship card to the police. The matter is under investigation and further steps will be taken on this, the police official said.

The incident has come into notice after a month and a half when Seema Haider, a Pakistani national entered India illegally to live with an Indian national. The investigation in this case is also underway.
