The heart-wrenching incident happened in the Mithwara village in the Fatehpur area in Barabanki following an argument between 22-year-old Riyaz and his sister 18-year-old Aashifa.

How accused Riyaz was arrested?

Additional Superintendent of Police, Ashutosh Mishra said, the accused, Riyaz allegedly behead his sister with a sharp weapon and was on his way to the police station with her head in his hand when the police arrested him.

The victim has recently eloped with her partner Chand Babu, a resident of the same village, Mishra said.

However, the police recovered Riyaz’s sister, Ashifa, a couple of days later and sent Babu to jail based on a complaint filed by the woman’s family members, the ASP added.
