Man allegedly stabs 2-year-old son in Odisha’s Nabarangpur

The police official stated that the accused committed the offence while being intoxicated.

A shocking incident has been reported from Odisha’s Nabarangpur district where a man has allegedly stabbed his 2-year-old son to death in a fit of anger, following which he was lynched by the people in the village. 

According to the updates from the police officials, the incident took place in a village under Maidalpur police station on Friday, where 35-year-old Radhe Santa stabbed and killed his son and neighbour.

Prime facie, the incident happened in the heat of rage, when the accused who has been identified as Radhe Santa, tried to stab his wife Malti after a heated argument, but she ran away to save her life. Then, he picked up his son and stabbed him repeatedly. 

The people of the village soon overpowered him, bound his hands, and thrashed him. After being rescued by the police, he was taken to the district headquarters hospital in Nabarangpur and afterwards to the SLN Medical College and Hospital in Koraput, where he succumbed to injuries.

Meanwhile, as per officials, the bodies have been seized and are being taken for a postmortem. An initial investigation points to domestic strife as the cause of the occurrence. The SDPO also stated that the accused committed the offence while being intoxicated.
