Maleesha Kharwa, a teenage girl from the slums of Mumbai, has become the face of luxury beauty and skincare brand Forest Essentials Yuvati collection. Described as the “princess from the slum”, Maleeshas dream of becoming a model has overcome obstacles such as poverty and a lack of food.Reportedly, last month, the company “Forest Essentials,” owned by entrepreneur Mira Kulkarni, posted a video on Instagram of a gaping, wide-eyed girl entering the store where her enormous campaign posters and photographs had been displayed. Her cheerful appearance concealed the struggles she had to endure performing everyday tasks when Hoffman first met her. Hoffman decided to help her after he discovered that she was passionate about dance and modelling. The actor also created a Go Fund Me page to help her with the funds.
