Five labourers died and many more got injured after a truck ran over them at a highway in Buldhana district of Maharashtra on Monday, police said.According to the statements of a senior police officer, the accident took place around 5:30 a.m. on Tuesday, when the labourers were sleeping in their temporary make-shift huts, alongside the road being constructed in Adner Bholji village of the district.A truck plying on the road ran over the labourers, he said.The official also said that out of the five, three died on the spot whereas the other two succumbed to injuries in hospital.The police are investigating the case, as the truck driver is on the run.This is a developing story, further details are awaited.
