A major road accident in Maharashtra’s Buldhana district has killed at least 6 people. According to the police officials, the incident happened at around 2:30 am on NH 53 at Nandur Naka flyover in Malkapur when two buses collided head-on.

Reports claim that out of two buses, one was owned by Balaji Travels and was returning to the Hingoli district from the Amarnath Yatra pilgrimage, while another bus which is owned by Royal Travels was heading to Nashikm.

The officials confirmed that the accident happened due to overtaking by some other bus. Reportedly, six passengers died in the mishap, and around 21 who were seriously injured were admitted to a hospital in Buldhana. Apart from this, another 32 passengers who suffered minor injured have been given first-aid at the nearby gurudwara.

It is to be noted here, that this is second major mishap in the district in the time frame of one month. On July 1, at least 25 people including three children were burnt to death when Samruddhi-Mahamarg Expressway caught fire.
