In a horrifying event, a father killed his 18-year-old daughter and her 21-year-old lover in Morena and dropped their bodies into the crocodile-infested Chambal River, Madhya Pradesh. The incident is believed to be an instance of honour killing.

The incident came to light when the confession was made by the accused. Following the statement, officials of the police department reached Reh Ghat, situated at the banks of the Chambal River, where they fetched the bodies of the duo with the help of the State Disaster Response Team (SDRF) and divers.

According to media reports, Shivani Tomar and Radheshyam Tomar were reportedly murdered in the Morena district’s Ratanbasai hamlet. Shivani’s family was adamantly opposed to her connection with Radheshyam, who hailed from Balupura, as per police.

Missing complaint revealed the killings

After Radheshyam’s father complained to the authorities that his son and the lady had been missing for several days and that he feared they had been murdered, the deaths were made public. The police first believed that both had fled. Nobody in the village had seen the two leave, though.

According to the reports, the bodies are yet to be recovered.
