Madhya Pradesh Cabinet Expansion: As Madhya Pradesh is gearing up to form its new cabinet under Chief Minister Mohan Yadav-led government, the Bharatiya Janata Party's top leaders are likely to take oath as state ministers today (December 25).

Reportedly, the oath ceremony will take place at Raj Bhavan at 3:30 PM. A final list of names will be declared by a four-member panel of BJP senior leaders - Prahlad Singh Patel, Kailash Vijayvargiya, Gopal Bhargava, and Rakesh Singh.

Earlier, a meeting regarding cabinet formation took place at BJP chief JP Nadda's residence.

On December 13, Mohan Yadav along with Rajendra Shukla, and Jagdish Devda took charge of the state. The latter belonging to different castes (Brahmin and Scheduled) conveys that healthy steps are being taken towards inclusion.

Efforts to Form Caste-Inclusive Cabinet

The party has prioritised the task of bringing balance to the cabinet in terms of the members' castes. 48 per cent of Madhya Pradesh's population belongs to the OBC caste. People belonging to all castes must be heard in the cabinet when making decisions that affect the people of Madhya Pradesh.

The BJP is ensuring that the cabinet includes all castes: tribals and OBC, Brahmins, Rajputs, Jains and Gujjars. The presence of all castes is not only crucial to have active voices from all castes heard in the cabinet, but also set an example for the society.

The BJP had pulled off a stupendous victory in Madhya Pradesh earlier this month, winning 163 of the state's 230 seats, reducing the Congress to 66.

Earlier in December, the BJP had earned 163 of the 230 seats in Madhya Pradesh. Now they are looking to expand the cabinet in the state and are making an effort to ensure that people from all castes are added.

Who is Mohan Yadav, new CM of Madhya Pradesh?

Mohan Yadav -- the Higher Education minister under the Shivraj Singh Chouhan government -- is considered close to the BJP's ideological mentor Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh and is a member of the Other Backward Classes which comprise over 48 per cent of the state's population.
