A mild 3.1 magnitude earthquake struck India's Vijayapura district in Karnataka state early Friday morning, authorities have confirmed.
According to data from the National Center for Seismology (NCS), the quake hit at 6:52 AM local time, with the epicentre located at 16.77°N 75.87°E. Tremors occurred at a shallow depth of about 10 kilometres.
