Massive fire breaks out at Ranchi vegetable market, several shops gutted

In Jharkhand, a massive fire broke out in Ranchi’s Daily Vegetable Market during the wee hours of Wednesday.

Several wholesale and retail vegetable shops were destroyed in this fire incident. Upon receiving the information, at least four fire tenders have rushed to the incident spot immediately and efforts are on to douse the fire, the official said.

Briefing about the incident, DSP Kotwalu Prakash Soy told the media, “The fire is under control now...Several shops have been gutted. As soon as we got the information we called the fire brigade.”

However, the police are still probing into this matter as the reason for the fire has not been ascertained.

The police and several local shopkeepers were present at the incident spot.
