Police officials on Saturday informed that a Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) jawan who has been identified as Sepoy Ajay found dead in Awantipora town of Jammu and Kashmir after gunshots were heard late last night. According to police, the gunshots were heard near Chersoo village in Awantipora at around 1.55 am, which triggered the assessment of the area.“After assessment a Jawan of F 112 BN CRPF namely Ct Ajay Kumar was found dead in the pool of blood,” police said in a statement.The proceedings have been initiated under Section 174 of the Code of Criminal Procedure. The police also informed that the CRPF jawan has apparently died by suicide.Before this also, in the month of March, a CRPF jawan was found dead at gunshot in Nawshera sector of Rajouri district. The jawan of 245 battalion was on duty at Train Bridge camp.
