J-K: 5 foreign terrorists killed in encounter in Kupwara, searches on

On Friday in Kupwara, Jammu and Kashmir, five foreign terrorists were killed in a clash with police personnel. Kashmir Vijay Kumar, an assistant director general of police (ADGP), reported that a search operation was underway in the area.

Taking it to Twitter the Kashmir Police zone informed, “An encounter has started between terrorists and joint parties of Army and Police on a specific input of Kupwara Police in Jumagund area of LoC of Kupwara district on Thursday.”

This is the first significant infiltration effort from the Kupwara district into Kashmir this year. A joint operation between the Indian Army and the Jammu and Kashmir Police earlier that day, on June 13, resulted in the deaths of two terrorists in the border region of the Kupwara district.
