J-K: 3 Lashkar terrorist associates arrested in Baramulla

Three Chinese grenades and cash worth Rs 2.5 lakh were recovered from them during the search.

Three terrorist associates linked with the banned terror group Lashkar-e-Taiba in Jammu and Kashmir were arrested on Sunday. The Police said they also recovered arms, ammunition, and other incriminating materials from their possession in Baramulla district.

The Police intercepted two suspected persons during joint Naka checking and patrolling with 13 SIKHLI, 185 BN BSF, and Baramulla Police at Kalgai near Jhula Foot Bridge.

As per officials, the suspects were identified as Zameer Ahmad Khanday, son of Azeem Khanday, and Mohammad Naseem Khanday, son of Abdul Majeed Khanday.  

Chinese grenades recovered

The Police informed the media persons that three Chinese grenades and cash worth Rs 2.5 lakh were recovered from them during the search. An FIR was lodged under relevant sections at Uri Police Station.

According to ANI, which cited the report, the accused said that Manzoor Ahmad Bhatti, a Madiyan Kamalkote native and the son of Karam Din Bhatti, had given them the money and grenades so they could carry out the terrorist operation. More details awaited.
