The administration in Haryana’s Nuh has suspended the mobile internet and bulk SMS services keeping the security concerns in mind after right-wing Hindutva outfits declared that they will not cancel their religious procession on August 28.

However, the district administration had denied them permission to take out the Brij Mandal Jal Abhishek Yatra in Nuh on August 28 citing law-and-order.

Mobile internet connections, bulk SMS (apart from banking and cell recharge), and all dongle services would be halted in Nuh district, according to the state’s home ministry, in an effort to limit the propagation of false information and falsehoods via various social media platforms.

Notably, the call for second procession (yatra) has come after the communal clashes happened in Haryana’s Nuh on July 31 when a Brij Mandal Yatra was attacked by a mob, taking life of six people in the violence. Gurugram also witness the heat of the clashes.

The orders for the suspension of the internet services have been taken by the Nuh Deputy Commissioner who had written a letter to the Additional Chief Secretary, requesting him to suspend the mobile internet and bulk SMS service in the district from August 25 to August 29.

Meanwhile, it is important to mention that the state authorities have denied permission to hold VHP’s Yatra on August 28. The rejection to the application was moved on the evening of August 22.
