Amid the interrogation regarding the Delhi minor rape case, where a government official allegedly raped his deceased friend’s daughter several times, the mother of the survivor, in a letter, has said that the family does not want to meet any official regarding this incident. She said that since her daughter had already recorded her statement before the magistrate, they did not want to be questioned further and requested privacy.
The open letter of the survivor’s mother in Hindi read, “My daughter has recorded her statement before the magistrate. Now, we don’t want to talk to anyone about the issue. This is a very serious and intense time for all of us. So, I request everyone to please respect our privacy.”
Premoday Khakha, accused of raping the minor girl several times between November 2020 and January 2021, was arrested along with his wife on Monday. His wife, Seema Rani also allegedly gave the girl abortion pills to terminate her pregnancy at home.
Deputy Commissioner of Police (north) Sagar Singh Kalsi told news agency PTI, “Seema is a housewife, while Khakha is the deputy director in the Woman and Child Development department of the Delhi government. The case was registered on August 13.”
The accused officials, Khakha and his wife Seema were arrested on Monday after questioning.
Meanwhile, a video has surfaced showing the accused attempting to escape with his family in his case just before the police arrived to arrest him.
In CCTV footage, captured at nearly 9:35 am on Monday, the accused was seen sitting in a car wearing a blue shirt as he attempted to escape. The footage was later recovered by officials of the Delhi Police.
