India Meteorological Department (IMD) has predicted heavy rainfall in parts of Gujarat for the next few days. According to the department, heavy showers have battered the parts of the state causing floods in the low-lying areas of Kutch and Saurashtra.
Maharashtra is also in-spate of heavy rains causing waterlogging in many areas.
The message from IMD reads, “#Saurashtra & #Kutch are likely to get Heavy to Very heavy with Extremely heavy rainfall (more than 204.4 mm) on 21st July.”

Meanwhile, the chief minister of Gujarat, Bhupendra Singh Patel conducted the ariel survey of the flood-affected areas of Sutrapada, Mangrol, and Gir Somnath.

IMD issued a ‘Red’ alert for heavy to very heavy rainfall for the Palghar district for tomorrow and has issued an ‘Orange’ alert for Mumbai, Thane, Raigad, and Ratnagiri.

Local trains and bus service is hitting hard as Mumbai is logging under water due to heavy rainfall. Continuous rainfall has been wreaking havoc in several parts of Maharashtra, including the capital city Mumbai, on Friday, with more than 1000 people shifted to safer places from flood-prone and vulnerable spots. Meanwhile, National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) teams have been deployed in flood-affected areas, and the chief minister Eknath Shinde-led Maharashtra dispensation has urged people not to venture outside unnecessarily.
