Upon reaching the incident spot, the police found that the hostel room was locked from inside. After the door was broken open, the student was found hanging.

Anil was then rushed to the hospital immediately, where he was declared dead, said the police.

Why did he commit suicide?

As per the preliminary investigations, Anil Kumar was pursuing a B. Tech in Mathematics and Computing. He was placed on an extension due to some incomplete subjects and has been staying at the hospital for the last six months.

Although the police did not find any suicide note in his room, the reason for taking such extreme steps is suspected to be academic stress.
