Himachal Pradesh: National Highway 707 between Paonta and Shillai blocked, due to landslide

Highway 707 of Sirmaur district in Himachal Pradesh has been blocked due to a massive landslide that took place. Keep reading to know which other areas of the state have been affected by the heavy rainfalls.

National Highway 707 has been blocked in Himachal Pradesh due to heavy downpours of rain which caused a landslide. The area between Paonta and Shillai belonging to the Sirmaur district has been closed off. 

The traffic advisory has implemented the blockage of the highway keeping in mind safety measures. Therefore, those who had planned to travel through the area are advised to find an alternative route before starting their journey.

Due to the recent weather, there was another landslide that recently took place in the state of Himachal Pradesh, on March 2. A video has been released on the internet that shows a tree falling over a house. Muddy water is also seen continuously flowing down a steep terrain. A dog is also spotted running through the landslide zone. The destroyed houses and surrounding in the video, show that landslides are dangerous and should be taken seriously.

The video above serves as evidence of how uncertain and harmful landslides can be. The clip features a route in Shillai, Himachal Pradesh which connects to Paonta, and Chopal. 

Recently many roads have been closed in Himachal Pradesh due to the weather. It is important to avoid unnecessary traveling at this time. Those facing traffic jams are advised to stay patient and claim during the phase.
