Himachal Pradesh has been under spate of deaths since the beginning of monsoon, this year. Now, another heart wrenching incident has come into light where a 69-year-old man and his grandson were killed after being struck by lightning in Himachal Pradesh’s Kangra district on Friday.
According to the police officials, the deceased have been identified as Thakur Das and his grandson Ankit, who were grazing goats in the fields of Rakh village near Palampur when the incident happened.
One more relative of the deceased who has been survived in the incident and has been identified as Sanjay Kumar, has reported the incident. Soon after getting the report, authorities have dispatched a team to retrieve the bodies and rescue any remaining individuals.
Meanwhile, a separate incident has been reported from Mahal Chakban Dhar, a part of the Dharamsala sub-division where 60 sheep were reported to be died due to lightening. Notably, Sub-Divisional Magistrate (SDM) Dharamshala Dharmesh Ramotra has sent a team from the Animal Department to assess and address the situation.
