The violence in Haryana that got erupted on July 31, Monday has killed 6 so far. Haryana Police have registered 44 FIRs and arrested 139 culprits to investigate the communal riots that broke out in Nuh and Gurugram districts. Since then, tensions are prevailed in both districts where police and central forces have been deployed in large numbers to keep the situation under control.

According to the First Information Report (FIR) filed by a police officer in connection with the communal clashes in Haryana’s Nuh states that the violence erupted during a procession by Vishva Hindu Parishad (VHP) from a Shiv Mandir in Nalhar. A mob of at least 800-900 men, who were from a particular community, chanted ‘Pakistan Zindabad’ and ‘Allah Hu Akbar’ slogans and marched towards the temple with sticks, stones, and illegal weapons with an ‘intent to kill’ people.

The FIR further says that police tried to control the mob but without paying any attention, they kept on marching towards Shiv Mandir shouting pro-Pakistan slogans and firing with illegal weapons. The police in response fired three rounds in the air, after which the mob started vandalising the vehicles and set them on fire.

Four persons identified as Lukhman, Wajid, Sahil, Jhankar, and many others initiated the violence as a part of their plan. The mob also backfired with petrol bombs at police personnel. Six people have died in the clashes, including two home guards and a cleric. On Tuesday, violence got erupted in Gurugram, following the Nuh incident. Here also many shops were gutted in the fire.

Apart from this, fresh violence has been reported from Gurugram, where a mosque was set on fire, but this was due to a short circuit, according to the officials. One mosque is located near Vijay Chowk, while the other one is near the police station. Both mosques have suffered damage.

Meanwhile, personal check of vehicles in Gurugram is being conducted amid tight security.
