The long-standing Shri Krishna Janmabhoomi dispute in Mathura saw a Monday hearing delay. Now the court has fixed March 15 as the new date for the case. The hearing will determine whether the lower court will hear the Shahi Idgah and Meena Masjid complex survey or not.

Hearing of Shahi Idgah case

The Shahi Idgah case is set to be heard in the ADJ court, while the Civil Judge Senior Court will pronounce the verdict in the Meena Masjid case. The survey will only be conducted if the court finds these cases to be hearable.

Later, the lower court will decide whether this survey should be conducted or not. In the Meena Masjid dispute, the court has set 21 March 2023 for the next hearing. This date may be crucial as the court may take a big decision on the matter.

Evidence are destroyed

The first issue pertains to the survey of the Shahi Idgah complex, where Hindu parties have alleged that the Muslim side is expanding the area. They believe that Muslims will destroy the alleged evidence present there.

Mahendra Pratap Singh files a petition

The Muslim side has opposed the appeal in court, and the decision was reserved on February 23. The petition filed by Mahendra Pratap Singh, President of Shri Krishna Janmabhoomi Mukti Nyas, had requested a geographical survey of the campus with the help of the Government Amin.

Rising demands for an Amin survey of Meena Masjid

The second case concerns the demand for an Amin survey of Meena Masjid, built near the eastern gate of Shri Krishna Janmasthan. Dinesh Sharma, National Treasurer of All India Hindu Mahasabha, filed it in the Civil Judge Senior Division Court. A hearing was held on February 23, with Advocate Dr. Nigam representing the Muslim side and Advocate Deepak Sharma cross-examining on behalf of the Hindu side.

Advocate Deepak Sharma demanded the Amin survey in Meena Masjid, while the Muslim side demanded a debate on the hearability of the case. As the dispute continues, the court’s decision on the survey and hearing of the cases will determine the course of the Shri Krishna Janmabhoomi dispute.
