In Haryana, an earthquake of magnitude 3.0 on the Ritcher scale struck Haryana in the wee hours of Sunday, according to the National Centre for Seismology (NCS). The tremors were felt at 4 am.
Taking it to X, the NCS stated, “An earthquake of Magnitude 3.0 on the Richter scale hit Sonipat, Haryana at 4 am today.”

As per the NCS, the epicentre of the earthquake was in Sonipat and occurred at latitude 29.15 degrees north and longitude 76.97 degrees east, at a depth of 5 km.
However, no damage or casualty has been reported so far.
Notably, this quake came days after northern India, including Delhi, Punjab, Haryana and Uttar Pradesh felt strong tremors after a 6.2 magnitude earthquake jolted western Nepal. It was the strongest among a series of consecutive quakes that struck the country.
Earlier, on October 15, an earthquake of 3.1 magnitude struck Haryana's Faridabad whose tremors were felt in the Delhi-NCR region.
Before that, strong tremors were felt in several parts of northern India, including Delhi and its surrounding areas on October 3, after a series of earthquakes jolted Nepal in a matter of a few hours. The strongest one measured 6.2 on the Richter scale.
